BIO - Tania has over 17 years experience in the Information Technology field, spanning Statistics Canada, Nortel Networks, and the past 8 years as a member of the Technology Security team with the City of Ottawa.  She holds a Highest Honors degree in Computer Science from Carleton University, and has completed her GIAC Security Essentials Certification from SANS.  Tania is skilled in the role of Incident Commander at the City of Ottawa, experienced with code coverage and automation, as well as web content filtering and two-factor authentication. 
Tania is now the subject matter expert for the technology risk management initiative at the City.  Her work includes liaising with various City departments to capture and track existing and emerging technology and security risks, and provide insight into security safeguards and risk mitigation strategies.
