BIO - Ms. Maddock graduated from Queens University, in Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree. She joined Vanguard EMC in 2007 and over the ensuing years has worked through all company administrative and consulting positions with enthusiasm and a strong customer focus. Cynthia D. Wenn, Associate Director of Operations and Client Relations, Vanguard Emergency Management Consulting Inc.
BIO - Ms. Wenn graduated from York University, in Toronto, Ontario in 1999 with a Master of Arts degree. She spent several years underwriting a broad range of business risks for the Dominion of Canada and Lombard Insurance while obtaining her Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. In 2003, she joined Cognos Inc. advancing their risk management and business continuity initiatives. Since 2010, Cynthia has supported various project at Vanguard EMC Inc where she currently serves as Associate Director of Operations and Client Relations. She has obtained the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and the Incident Command 400 level designation.

Synopsis - Since 2004, federal government departments have used the Operational Security Standard on business continuity to direct their internal preparedness efforts. Changes are coming. This presentation explores the draft alterations to standards internal and external to the Canadian federal government. It will prompt discussion on what these updates could mean to the way business continuity management will be practiced in the coming years. Will 2017 be a revision or revolution to the industry?
